Statistics is the science which deals with methods of collecting, classifying, presenting, computing, interpretating data collected to throw some light on any sphere of inquiry. ( By Selligman)

Statistics follows these rules:

• Event
• Data Collection
• Representation
• Analysis/ comparison

Variable

 A variable is any characteristics, number or quality that can be measured or counted.

Classification of variable

Variable:

1) Quantitative Variable: If any variable is countable , that is called quantitative variable.
Quantitative variable have two types
i) Discrete Variable : That can count separately 
ii) Continuous Variable : That can increase or decrease continuously.
Based on discrete and continuous variable, it have two type.

• Random Variable
• Non-Random Variable

2) Qualitative Variable: Non countable variable is known as qualitative variable.
